Hey, everyone!

It is with a heavy heart that I make an official announcement post that I have since paused this project. The truth is I lost motivation along the way. As a solo dev, projects like these can be very mentally draining. And as someone who bounces around projects a lot, it's hard for me to sit still in one place.

I'm so terribly, deeply sorry to those who had taken interest or were captivated by the story and idea behind this project, and were then subsequently made to wait nearly two years without progress or word from me. Especially since the demo left off at such a cliffhanger.

What does this mean for the project and where it stands going forward?

Recently, an interested party in the indie VN community reached out to me with the intention of acquiring the rights to continue the project in my stead. We're working on that, in addition to reaching out to all artists involved regarding the transferring of ownership of the commissioned artworks.

There are hiccups along the way as the sprite artist, who also did a CG illustrations, isn't comfortable with that. Their reasoning is that they sold me the commercial rights to the artwork and do not feel comfortable with it in someone else's hands. Even though I own the rights after paying for them, I still want to respect their wishes and couldn't continue in good faith if they became angry with me. It would have been important because, assuming the project needs more sprite/artwork done with that particular artist, they might be unwilling to work with the new group and thus result in inconsistent sprite styles.

This likely means that, while the original designs will stay the same, a new artist will have to redraw the sprites. Hopefully a compromise can be made, but that remains to be seen.

Once the project switches hands, I more than likely may work on the game at a lesser capacity as the writer.

Again, I am so sorry for failing you, everyone.

I do hope the group who takes over the project breathes new life into this, because I, too, wish to see Cylla, Shu, and Emily's stories unfold.
